It is designed to give a better understanding of the role of church worker, both in general and in one’s own setting. The day’s topics, and the opportunity to share together, will help develop a strong foundation of good practice.
The day will include:
developing employees’ understanding of the context of their lay ministry
pastoral care, including safeguarding children and adults and working with confidentiality
deepening employees’ understanding of how groups function
exploring effective communication skills
reflecting on their job descriptions and the appraisal scheme
exploring different models of spiritual development, faith sharing, and vocation
key elements of Methodist history and doctrine.
